Welcome to TOTEMK Training:
Training of trainers, module 1 (26th - 28th April 2021): 21st century learning and teaching skills
This course is designed for lecturers/teacher educators.
At the end of this training, you will be able to:
1. Evaluate the structure, content and philosophy of CBC.
2. Apply appropriate pedagogical approaches in the learning of 4Cs.
3. Formulate appropriate assessment methods within the context of CBC and the learning of the 4Cs.
The aims of the TOT1 training is to create awareness of CBC requirements, understanding of its inner meaning and new practice. The second aim is to practice and provide lecturers and teacher educators with tools to implement teaching and guide learning in accordance with CBC and 21st century needs.
Participants will learn about the structure of CBC, learner-centered teaching and learning approaches. They will engage through hands-on sessions, integrative & collaborative teaching strategies and the learning of the 4Cs; 21st century skills – Critical thinking, creativity and imagination, communication and collaboration. Training sessions will include designing sessions on the 4Cs in your courses and use of competency based assessments; formative assessments and use of criteria and standards- rubrics.
The training period consists of three intensive days and 10 weeks’ distance period. Implementation will be done online, use the Flipped classroom method (materials for prior reading and learning), lectures and discussions, hands-on workshops and assignment for distance period. Participants will get a certificate after completing the course.
